2 Rifles in Afghanistan Oct 11 – Mar 12

The following images have been kindly donated for my blog by a young Rifleman serving   with 2 Rifles in Afghanistan during the period of October 2011 till March 2012 (Winter tour). I hope that the following images also give you an insight into the life of a modern Infantry soldier and a glimpse of some of the images that I will take during my Summer tour to Afghanistan.

Special thanks to Pip Doe for the use of his images.

About robgrimesphotography

Experienced and enthusiastic, I have a real passion for photography that I have gained over the years and that shines through in my pictures and my portfolio. I specialise in capturing those spontaneous moments that we otherwise could lose, either at your wedding or on a relaxed family shoot of your choice. I am always happy to talk about photography, so if you think I might be the right person to take your photographs then give me a ring to discuss your pictures, they are yours after all. Also a full time serving soldier in the Infantry in the British Army, but soon to be leaving the forces after Project Afghan finishes.

Good to see they can all enjoy a beer on Christmas day, but they look like they would rather be at home 😦

The main thing was, no matter where they are, they still make time to have a beer and enjoy themselves!! Thanks Abi for following and the comments! They will be home soon around March time when i take over from them!! 🙂 x

Keep at it. The most important part of this industry is to work hard and continue to look for inspiration from people who are successful in the industry you want to be a part of while being ridiculously critical of your own work.

  7. The Christmas shot reminds me of how much of a ‘family’ we felt with all the other army children and families during my father’s active service.
